Just a goofy little poem I came up with for the writers cramp contest. For the fun of it!
Hunger, it is what I felt,
But needed something light.
I opted for a tuna melt,
The taste it was so right.

My puppy stared right up at me,
His eyes were big and bright.
Then his ears perked up in glee,
His nose sensed much delight.

He began to holler,
In his puppy way so sweet.
I took him by the collar,
Said be good, you'll get a treat.

I put him on the rigging,
Of the chain I'd put outside
Then he started digging,
So afraid my food I'd hide.

I ate what I was able,
Saved the rest for him.
Then the critter realized,
That the outcome wasn't grim.

I fed the morsels to the pup,
He ate it with such pleasure,
My only hope was he'd lick up.
The mess I would not treasure!

The bolded words were required to be used and bolded. Writers cramp entry.
