      A Friend Offering Second Chances

I'm you friend and I can't stand to see you like this any longer.  You are so sad.  You seem to have lost all hope.  Let go of those thoughts that are dragging you down.  Being isolated won't help you find an answer.  Let me help you because I love you.

What if it were me? You would do all you could to help.  You know you would sit with me and talk with me; just like I'm doing with you now. You won't open up to me.  I care about you more than you know and can't begin to tell you how seeing you like this hurts me inside.

Please tell me what I can do to bring you out of this funk.  I don't want to see you cry any longer.  Just like always; I am doing all the talking.  Please talk to me.  You know what I'm saying is true.

I am begging you because you matter to me and other people.  You can't stay locked up in this tower you have built forever.  Break down those walls and breathe the air of freedom. Walk with me.  Talk with me.  Lean on me.  Have faith in me. I am there for you now and always.

Remember our tree house and how we would spend time there?  It was our secret place where we could talk and play.  Sure we were younger then but we were good friends. I am still your friend and if I could turn back the time, I would have you and I in that tree house again.  We can't recapture that time but there is still a life out there worth checking out.

I brought something with me today.  Remember those pictures my grandpa took on the dock.  We were dangling our feet in the water.  Remember how cool it was on our toes?  Grandpa's fishing pole started bobbing and he began reeling in the fish.We laughed that day, that fish was an old boot.  It did give him a fight though.

Just you and me share so many memories.  Playing dress up in your mom's bedroom.  Teaching Scottie to chase the tennis ball.  Remember how he never would bring it back voluntarily?  He was such a silly little dog.

Our tire swing is still hanging on that old tree on Grandpa's back yard.  Remember spinning around and around until we got dizzy?  Then we would fall on the ground.  After a while we would watch the clouds go by and pick shapes.  Remember when you spotted a spider shape in the sky?  That was so cool then.

Oh my God, you actually came over and gave me a hug.  I knew if I tried hard enough I could reach you.  You hang on to me as long as you need. Please let those tears your crying be from relief and understanding.

Let go of the hurt like I said before.  We can make it through anything.  We can make up for lost time.  I promise I will never leave you alone again.  You will always have me to be there when you need me.

Lets go to the tree house.  I bet the ladder is still there.  Maybe we can find some of our things in there.  It's just about time for sunset.  Remember how we would watch the sunset and plan for tomorrow?

There are so many tomorrows for us just waiting .  We can do anything as long as we are together.
