The Perfect Valentines Day

They came in droves and spread out over the cities.  Small and spritely, unseen by the naked eye, they fluttered and danced while they worked.

It started with the shimmering of particles upon the homes.  While they slept, the occupants inhaled the soft scented rose enigma. 

Brownies worked magic by sweeping and cleaning homes once thought to be dingy and toxic, while the occupants were in dreamless sleep. The love bug flinted into children’s rooms spreading contentment and the knowledge they were loved.

One by one, the people stretched and yawned awake.  Some counted blessings, or whispered a good morning prayer, and some just jumped out of bed with great vigor to embrace the day.

People shook off their burdens.  “Must be something in the air,’ they commented.  Feeling like a million bucks landed in their pockets overnight, they paid it forward.

Men and women smiled at each other.  Courtesy abounded.  People found decent jobs and their self-esteem flourished.

The sick and helpless were lovingly taken care of and treated with respect.  They no longer cringed with hopelessness.  The soulless shuttered the hate off themselves.

Even the crabby old man who lived on the corner began to whistle a cheerful tune and waved at the equally crabby, Mrs. Johnson, who retaliated by throwing him a kiss.  He caught it in his hand and saved it.

Husbands, wives, and lovers listened to one another and burst into hearty laughter.  And at the end of the day, romance prevailed, mending rocky marriages. They became strong and mighty as couples embraced goodnight and said the words, “I love you.”

All news became good news and the effects would last and be renewed again and again.
