My first attempt at free form. Companion piece to "Sin"
Companion piece to "Sin

Kindness
A positive word, a generous shred
It doesn't take much for kindness to spread
Of all the ways to combat a vice
Few are easier than just being nice

Temperance
It's sometimes a shock to see some restraint
When excess and greed are a common complaint
There's really no reason to feed your own greed
No sense in taking more than you actually need

Charity
No sense in keeping all your wealth hid away
Even if you're saving for that one rainy day
It's not something you'll be able to count on
After you're dead and when you're all gone

Chastity
Resist temptation, remain pure
It can be tough but you must endure
Consider how much your purity is worth
And give seducers amply wide berth

Humility
Modesty and humility must be applied
To avoid falling victim to your own pride
Don't let the worst of sins have its druthers
Think of yourself less often than others

Diligence
Be steadfast, and do what you can to endure
Even when it's tough and quitting has an allure
No one ever accomplished anything profound
By giving up and letting their motivation run aground

Patience
As far as things that really grate
Few are more difficult than a wait
Especially when we're incensed to react
Take a moment and add some tact
