A poem about what love is, and what it will come to be.
I long for it.
That emotional bond.
That physical touch.
That sexual pleasure.
All which is love.

Love..
You share yourself,
Every part of yourself,
To that person.

Your most private,
Your most personal,
Your most special thing that you have.

Nothing is hidden.
Your heart,
Your joy,
Your body,
It’s all shared.

And in the end,
It’s all lost.
Everything.
Everything is lost.

The trust.
The happiness.
The joy.
But not the love.

The worse part of it all.
The love is still there.
It doesn't go away.
It can’t be ignored.
It can only be filled.

Yet,
The person who filled it,
That person you shared everything with.
Your thoughts,
Your secrets,
Your body.
Every part of you.

That person,
That person is gone.
They didn't leave a hole in your heart.
What they left,
Is worse.

They left your heart in pieces.
A million tiny pieces.

Nothing is the same after.
Your whole being feels different.
Your thoughts are different.
Your heart..
It can never be put back the same.
You yourself,
are different.

That person who shared their thoughts,
Their secrets,
Their body,
Their everything,
Is now gone.

And your reason to go on…
That you can’t say.
you can’t answer.
you have no answer.

What you know,
Is you put your heart back together,
But never the same way it was.
You put yourself back together,
But you will never be the same.
