1) I cannot find my Portfolio. What is the easiest way I can access it?

look to the left hand side of your screen. There should be a vertical bar with the "writing.com" logo at the top. look down slightly and you'll see your screen name. Under the screen name should be a box with the word "portfolio" and the number of items in it. click portfolio.

2) How do I access my Favorites menu?

Your favorites menu is on the right hand side of your screen. it's another vertical bar, but it says "favorites" at the top. At the bottom, it should say "Manage/More", where you can see who you favorited, and where to delete some if you want to.

3) Someone told me I should subscribe to a Newsletter, but I don’t know how. Please explain where to find options for subscribing to Newsletters.

Look back to the left hand side of your screen and click your screen name above the box that links you to your portfolio.On the tabs at the top of the page, go to account options, and scroll down until you see the box under "additional account settings". The second link is "Manage newsletter subscriptions", where you can add the newsletters for genres you are interested in.

4) I want to review for other people. Where do I go to let people know I am available to do reviews?

Go back to the box on the left side of your screen and click "reviews". Then, at the top right, click "manage reviews". Then, on the drop-down menu for "Minimum Gift Points accepted for Review Requests:" choose a value, or choose "do not accept review requests", which will turn it off.

5) I want to set my Privacy Options. Please explain how to find these options.
Go back to the "my account" area where you click your screen name. Go back to the last tab "options" at the top, and scroll down until you see "privacy options", and click it

6) I don’t like my handle any more. Can I change it? If so, how?
Yes, you can change your handle. Go to my account and the second line should be "your handle" with your handle as a link. click it to change it to what you'd like.

7) I am tired of getting lists of items that are above the rating level I find appropriate. Is there any way to filter these from being seen by me?
Go back to the "my account" area by clicking your screen name. Go back to the last tab "options" at the top, and scroll down until you see "content rating options"

8) I want to add some items to my favorites. Please explain how I can do this.
on the top right of the item, there should be a series of icons, one of which is a plus sign. click the plus sign and you have added the item as a favorite.

9) How do I become a fan of another author?
Next to an author's handle, there should be a rectangle, envelope, and plus sign. click the plus sign to favorite him/her, and you can click again, too, to fan.
