A man realizes something.
A man lies here lifeless,
I know him somehow.
His face, it unnerves me,
I move away now.

Passed away sleeping
in coffin of pine.
I know that I know him;
I’ll remember in time.

Others are here
saying goodbye.
Some are quite stoic
while others, they cry.

Gathering mettle,
I move to the front.
But the service concludes,
its ending, quite blunt.

The people are leaving,
stepping so slow.
I wish I could follow,
I wish I could go.

Then I look in the casket
at the man that I know.

Oh yes... I see now,
I cannot go.
