While some people just see cornflakes, because of my severe OCD I manage to see much more.

I want
I must
What I need
Some sort of peace
A lessoning
Of my terrible ways
A breath
That I can take
In a peaceful state
Of eternal existence
Even if
It’s just for a second
I’ll make it last
Forever and ever
But instead
All that I’ll get
Anarchist cornflakes
At this present point
Is what I must face
Prepared for me
By I’m assuming
A well-intentioned wife
Placed in a bowl
Under my face
Her parting words
Eat up
You crazy ass
Son of a bitch
A term of endearment
Quite lesser
Than what I’m sure
She really thinks
She knows all
Of my buttons
She is not beyond
Pushing any of them
Anarchist cornflakes
None
Not a single one
Sorted by size
Affiliated by shape
Just a random mess
Is always what it is
My present
And significant
Compulsive disorder
Affords me such sight
While others just see cereal
I observe absolute chaos
Dismantled pieces
Of some greater shape
That somehow in my mind
Has something to do with me
I fixate
Then again and gain I relate
I can’t get it free
In my mind it digs in deep
Fear over what it means
Gnaws to my spine
Filling my body with dread
Leaving me wondering
What it all means
And how it relates
To my life and ultimate death
I’m sure
More than anything before
That God above must know
What it is he shows
Why did he pick me
Why did he leave my mind
An unbalanced mess
Of chemicals that don’t mix
Why did he give me
What has become a curse
Didn’t I suffer enough
Can’t I just see as all others do
Nothing but random things
Not necessarily needing a place
Not always having to relate
To me and my twisted life
Anarchist cornflakes
Can’t I just see what it is
They are and what it is
They certainly are not…
