It's not always their fault...

I had a chance to win,
But my friends took it away.
Took, and tossed in the bin,
What had been my only way.

I blamed them for all my loss,
I found reasons to not try.
My life had gone for a toss,
And all I did all day, was cry.

It never really was my fault.
I kept thinking it was their's.
My chances were locked in a vault,
And I couldn't see how it was fair.

They didn't mean to hurt me inside,
To see me happy was all they wanted,
They were actually on my side.
The friends on whom I had always counted.

My spirit was slowly dying,
And my cheeks were always wet.
Why are we always crying,
When we can forgive and forget.

In me was the flaw
So I cleaned up the mess,
And that's when I saw,
The beauty of forgiveness.
