A Western about pelicans.
Pelican Outlaws
Jessica Marie

One sunny day in the middle of July,
I saw fourteen tall blue bellied pelicans,
guns shining in the corner of my eye.
Dressed from head to toe in all jet black,
their cowboy hats shot full of holes,
smirking and ready for their plan of attack—
“We come here from Tombstone,”
he pauses as ladies faint and children run,
“and if you cross us, your brains we’ll blow!”
Then out of nowhere, I hear galloping so loud,
without a sound, the sheriff draws his pistol,
what cowards as they all flee; he’s so proud!
