Time can turn a cage into a palace, and a prisoner into a Queen.
Time can turn a cage into a palace, and a prisoner into a Queen.

"[ I fear] a cage. To stay behind bars until use and old age accept
them and all chance of doing great deeds has gone beyond recall or desire.
"

~Eowyn The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers

Wraith of Time

A caged bird stands
On the grave of her dreams
And warbles an aria

She remembers a time
She lived without bars
And life was an opera

Now trapped in a prison
Her life not her own
She trills a mournful refrain

But as days go by
And weeks become years
Her ballads are all the same

She feels safe in her cell
As her youth slips away
No longer something to see

Her cage now her throne
Her silence her crown
She forgets all she wanted to be
