Inspired by a picture of the Montana Skyline

CLOUDS IN SPRINGTIME

What shape shall you mimic in shadow and mist
barring the sunlight as winds you resist.
Holding the dreamer in quiet repose
you conquer where landscape's horizons once rose.
A river, an ocean, now a battleship grand
floating on feathers so distant from land.
You capture us pondering the questions of life
and somehow release us from torment and strife
Take heed all ye burdened the storms that you brew
rushing for answers we find but a few.
The clouds that once darkened your thoughts and your dreams
shall brighten your outlook with wondrous scenes.
Take time for reflection, lie down in the fields
look to the heavens for the magic it yields.
