I wrote this a few years ago. In retrospect, I've grown to dislike it.
Pain is inflicted upon the strongest people
Harsher than the dead of winter
Tearing at your insides
Baring it terrorizing sharp teeth
Ravenous for misery
Maliciously taunting you with ludicrous comments
“You will never be good enough”
Endeavoring to manipulate your brain
It will by no means stop
Yet you fight to keep going on
Through the impossibly fierce blizzard of insecurity
“Give up” it says
You remain isolated
Crying wordlessly
Hopelessly wallowing in your own sorrow
Your stunned conscience is silent
Loneliness overcomes you
As all of your mistakes play out before your eyes
Knowing that you’ve been ultimately defeated
Still you beg for everything to halt to a stop
But it never will
Because Pain is merciless
