I wrote this while my grandfather was sick with cancer. These are some of my thoughts.
Wheeze

Don't think about it
The way your knees are locked
The breaths you should be taking
The pain you want to inflict on the voice of hope and reassurance

Think about silence
The blank, satisfying nothingness
A steady wheeze can play in the distance
Just keep wheezing
Just keep breathing
Just keep anything

I don't want to worry about tomorrow anymore
I don't want to think about tomorrow anymore
I don't want a tomorrow

Just keep wheezing
Knees locked
Stiff stay stiff
Don't stroke my arm
Stop
Stop using past tense
HES STILL HERE SO WHY ARE YOU STILL USING PAST TENSE

Leave me alone
I want my nothingness with my slow steady wheeze
Just keep wheezing
Wheeze wheeze wheeze wheeze
