Demetria Love, a transmale student born in the year 2000, is in love with his best friend.
Hey there! I'm Demetria, or just Demetre (dee-me-tree). I'm breaking the fourth wall by doing this, but it's a book, right? Right. Well, as you know, and read in the short description, I'm a transgender male (transmale for those who want a short, single word) and I am madly in love with my best friend, who is also agender. I'll just refer to them as YKW (You Know Who). Or YKW as them/they/their. In retrospect. And this lovely human being is my previous and possibly not my last. I've known them for quite a while now, about 3/4 of a year (a long enough time for me to develop feelings). Their name? I won't say. I'm just gonna say, "Hey, you, come here," or, "hey'a person," so you know who I'm talking about.
Enough of this introduction of how I'm going to talk about people. Only my friend group knows about my being transgender, and so they refer to me as Deme (dem-eh) around others. I am only fourteen, but I cuss. A lot. So this is PG-13. Yay! Not.
So, you all know about the setting. High School. I live in Ridgetop, Nashville, Tennessee, otherwise known as Northern Nashville. I have to wake up at a god-awful time (4:00 A.M.) and go to school which has crappy classes and annoying teachers (I'm still nice to them so they can treat me like a normal human being) and really, really stupid kids. Sophomores and fellow fresh-meat. Yes I just referred to the newbs of high-school as Fresh-Meat.
