Written about a friend of mine when we stopped talking. He used to be a best friend.

A year has almost passed

since we last spoke.

No matter how hard I try,

I can't forget you and the friend you used to be.

My days seem to be darker

knowing we no longer speak.

Most of the time I feel alone,

walking in a haze,

not knowing my surroundings.

Often I wish that by surprise,

I'll see you walking down the street.

You'd greet me with a hug,

like you always would when we would run into each other on the city streets.

People tell me

it's time to let you go.

Each day is a struggle for me,

should I let you go or keep on hoping we'll see each other again?

I wish that day never happened,

when you decided to no longer be my friend.

Wish that I still had you in my life,

when I knew I could always depend on you.
