A twisted little poem about helping those who need help in a way that I can help them.

Taking
Forsaken
Not to be
Forgiven
God
Won’t question
The darkness
May be asking
No answers
To be given
No responses
Will be coming
Stealing lives
Killer mind
Body and soul
Knowing thy role
Victims a plenty
Lemmings standing
At the edge
All they need
Is a slight shove
And I’ll give it
Without regret
Despite the fear
Of “what if”
I’ll do it
Because I myself
Know nothing else
In my heart
In my head
Continually
Do I suffer
So that they
Don’t have to
They may face
The fall
But I alone
Face the impact
Stealing lives
They are not mine
But more importantly
They are no one else’s
At least none that care
Ones that want to be
Anywhere but here
They are suicidal
Misfits of chance
Pushing the buttons
Jamming the switches
Creating chaos
Within themselves
Seeking
Early redemption
A greater forgiveness
Via the acts of me
The lesser madman
Who has the courage
When they themselves
Are afraid to leap
All of them fall
Ass over tea kettle
Often screaming
Somebody save me
I’ll continue to assume
That it’s all a lie
Being saved
Is what the wish
Least of all
Stealing lives
Upon the brink
Continually I stand
Lemmings approach
Impulsively attempting
Redemption
They throw
Everything they have
All that they can
At God above
He’s not listening
Words are pointless
Actions are king
With greater ease
I give them a shove
Down they go
Relief
Is what they hope
I’m sure as hell
They won’t have it
Stealing lives
Killing to be kind
Lending a hand
To those not so brave
To those who bring
Themselves to the edge
But dare not step
All that they require
Is an increasingly
Lesser push
Thus
With all the compassion
That I can dare muster
Again and again
I find a way to give
What it is they need…
