My strange comparison of how a relationship can be beautiful but then start to wane.
To my astronaut,
Was I not the galaxy
you wanted to get lost within,
the star you wanted to guide your way,
or the moon that makes you gaze.
Was it my emptiness that drifted you away?
I tried to shine just for you
but my sun almost blinded you
so I stayed dark
but saw no change of heart.
I turned planets, made colorful explosions
to try and make you smile
but that only made you rile.
I recall how we used to be,
me in awe of you and you in awe of me,
and not remember when you began to feel
scared, suffocated, and needing time to heal.
You have left me with a black hole
you, a once inspired soul.
So while you depart me,
you will feel my blaze,
and these trembles of my heart,
that have me in a craze.
This is me letting go
and the last of my woe.
I will watch you leave
but I know another astronaut
awaits for me.
