Autumn is the epitome of an elegant death.
The Beautiful Death:

Autumn

By Minuette Desjardin

Lofty leaves languidly list,

Upon the cool crisp breeze of Autumn's kiss.

Scintillating sticks of cinnamon spice,

Bubbling and steaming in potpourri's wight.

Cool crisp calm and cackling crows,

Dwell in disrobed boughs lost in Winter's repose.

Sinister silly suspicious smile,

As Jack peeks from a lantern, through a window for a spell.

Golden gilded glittering glow,

Of a Harvest Moon's light beckoning Earth's repose.

Slithering soaring swelling smoke,

Of a chimney fire warming the crisp Autumn mourn.

Laughing and loving the languishing life,

Of a mother grown old facing Soul's dark night.

Soon to cycle surrounding and sweet,

From Winter's long death to Spring's fulsome repeat.
