He leaned in closer As if to whisper To tell me something So I'd remember.
The clowns face
Was blue and white
Red and orange
And awfully bright.

Behind his mask
He wore a smile
Cracked and frayed
It stayed a while.

He leaned in closer
As if to whisper
To tell me something
So I'd remember.

The clown I saw there
In the mirror
It's me that looked back
Filled with terror.
