A poem about a certain someone that I wish that I could love.
Every time I see you, a song pops in my head,

My heart beats a little faster, I feel my face turn red,

But then I see her by you, and then my world turns blue,

Words I want to whisper, but I'll never be allowed to.

She's yours. You're her's. We're nothing more than friends.

This heart that could have soared, now slowly descends.

Still I follow you around, quiet as a mouse,

Crying inside at the thought that she will be your spouse.

I'm happy for you, I really am, but why just can't it be,

The fairytale that's in my heart, starring you and me?

I wish somehow you'd call it off, or at least wait a little while,

But I shake my head knowing holding off is not your style.

I pray to God at night, you'll see our love is true.

It's not that I hate her, it's just that I love you.

I try to smile when I see you two, and how your smile glows,

But in my heart, down deep inside, is a pain that only grows.

A rain cloud hovers above me, as I watch you two walk away,

And I cry as I tell myself, my dream will never come true anyway.

Every time I see you, a song pops in my head,

But what's the point in dancing? My heart's already dead.

Then, when I see her by you, and my heart starts turning blue,

I look deep into your eyes, and think "I still love you."
