Poem for Whispers of the Soul contest
Without Regret

I'll step on board
Without regret
I tell myself and sigh

I'll stand up brave
And straight and strong
And face whatever's nigh

My journey here
Has made me know
Myself and all my faults

Now that it's done
What will I find
When I look in truth's vault

Will I see
At this quest's end
Victory's prize to choose

Or will I find
My dream is hung
On branches of bad news

The moment's now
I boldly move
To judge the seas I sail

DRAT!!!!
I never should have stepped
Upon my bathroom scale
