Being different from others has it's ups and downs
Sounds dance in the air, different but familiar.
The violins sing with high pitches,
the violas hum, a low monotone;
The cellos also sing, but harmonize with the violins.
While the bass grunts, waiting to go back home.
Classical, boring, but interesting. But there is another
sound that I hear, is it a violin? No. Is it a viola? No.
What could it be, connected to a speaker, thinner than the rest.
Different color, electric blue, not wood. Does it have four strings?
Nope, five. An electric violin-- one of a kind.
Blue can sing like the violins, and hum like the violas.
What can’t she do? The shrills in the air made,
astonishing to see. Everyone stops to hear her song, staring,
wondering, How?
Blue speaks two languages.
Blue is me, the awkward one out,
Like a blue jay and blue bird sharing the same nest.
