Shadows and Light Poetry Contest Round 43
 Warm  (E)
Shadows and Light Poetry Contest Round 43
#2105861 by Chris Breva

Fresh cocoa is on the stove
There's a log in the fireplace
A blanket of snow is on the ground outside
It could chill one to the bones
So why not come in a spell
I know you must be cold
Sit down in this overstuffed chair
Kick off your shoes and warm your toes
You are always welcome here.

You've always been a friend to all
None has left you empty handed
You always see that others eat
You put your neighbor first
Such things do not go unrewarded
Karma will have its day
Those who you have helped love you so
Your heart is always warm.
