Heavenly Dew (Advent Poem)

The advent of the King of Kings is nigh.
The world awaits the Babe with eager sigh.
Emmanuel, Messiah, Lamb of God--
Eternal Word, The Savior, Jesse's rod.

"Drop down dew," the holy prophet writes,
"Rain down the just" in all His holy might.
Our debt is full, innumerable as the sand.
Lord, tarry not, rise, save Thy barren land.
