follow me if you like my Scarl and Eugene;)
I stepped in and closed the door behind me. The floorboards of the wide corridor were white with few brown splotches on them. Some of them creaked a bit when I stepped on them. We reached Kestrel's room after a few twists and turns. She pushed open a brick red door and waved her hand, beckoning me to go in.
The floor was one huge board that had abstract art with lines and shapes painted onto the surface. The window was one huge panel of glass that reached from the ceiling to the floor. No matter how many times I come here, I still could not suppress my adoration for the beautiful art.
'So,' Kestrel laid on her king-sized bed with blue bed sheets thrown messily aside, 'What now?'
'What?' I sat on a beanbag chair with legs stretched straight.
'Eugene! Duh!" Kestrel rolled her eyes impatiently at me, 'You've gotta make a move on him girl! Or else he'd be taken away by another girl in our class. Muy rapidos, chica!' Kestrel clapped her hands together and fell on to the bed, eyes staring dreamily at the ceiling.
'Uh. If you like him so much, why don't you go 'make a move on him' yourself?' I asked her. 'Um, I'm too, shy? Nah whatever! Just do it, you won't regret it.' I stared at Kestrel, for, like a century or so, when suddenly, the doorbell rang.
'Coming!" yelled Kestrel after groaning loudly. And just like that, she leaped out of bed, leaving a flabbergasted me behind.
After several seconds, I heard Kestrel speaking with a boy, so being curious as me, I went out to check out the boy talking to Kestrel. And it was...
'Eugene.' I crossed my arms with exhaustion creeping into my voice. I felt angry and impatient, although I don't know exactly why. Maybe me and Eugene are meant to be mortal enemies or something.
'You left your skateboard behind.'
Surprisingly, Eugene had a deep yet comforting voice, except that his tone was dull and his face was expressionless. His eyes were the color of a dark ocean blue. Maybe it's because he's not facing the light.
Eugene held out my skateboard. I took it roughly and then ----
I slammed the door in his face.
