The joys of old age.
This is part of a conversation with Bobby and Carol Harris in an Instant Message. They suggested I make it into a story for writing.com.

My Senior Moments
By Penny Hoprich

I think I've just had one of those senior moments that tried to last all day. You know, the kind where you find your self staring at the calendar to see what time of day it is.

George very seldom lets me cook, because when I do, I want to cook what he calls a feast (for the 2 of us: well, no actually for me.LOL). He likes
these one dish meals. I hate them. Once I got mad at him and yelled, "Henry didn't mind eating the kind of meals I cooked." He gave me this
funny look, and said, "But Penny, Henry died of clogged arteries." Well, anyhow, he let me cook supper tonight, (you know, one of those artery
clogging meals...we like to call it Southern cookin'.)*Smile* I was halfway to the bathroom, when I realized that's not where we keep the pots and pans. When I slammed on brakes, and stood in the middle of the dining room floor, George asks, "Thinking of the here after again?" LOL

Our dog Jack thinks his name is GeorgeJohnJack.
You know, one of those kinds of days.

George says getting old is a lot of fun. You get to meet new people everyday. He wakes up every morning to a new woman, but all his women have
the same name(Penny). But with his multiple personalities, I never know who I'm talking to.

Oh well, George's "3" favorite words...(1) This (2)too (3)shall (4)pass. The first time he said that to me, I caught it right away. He knew right then I was a smart woman. I could count past 3, so he said that's why he wanted to marry me. But I know it's because I was his secretary, and he didn't want to have to pay me. He promised if I'd marry him, he'd give me a raise. So he bought me a ladder for our first anniversary. It makes it a lot easier for me to reach these 12 ft. ceilings to change the light bulbs.

That first sentence was all I had intended to say, but I got on a roll.

I've been sitting here typing this for 2 days. When I started it was Monday, now it's Tuesday(12:07)I'm outta here.
