Waiting for Spring.

Beneath a frozen blanket
lie daffodils in slumber.

Awaiting the morning call
of spring rays reaching under.

Bringing above the earth
beauty like no other.

Nodding its frilled face
to those who care to wander.

Soothing the psyche
of a paused observer.

Soon to wither and wait,
daffodils in slumber.
