Watched it snowing and thought about a summer night I spent on my deck

"Sky Lights"

There before my deck last night
just above the trees.
The stars were smiling points of light
sky lights with scented breeze.

I wished upon a falling star
that passed through space and time,
and came by way of worlds afar,
beyond the silent pine.

Private moments to remember
with no one else around.
To fondly call them back whenever
snow falls on frozen ground.

Daydreams from some other day
to savor here and now.
Stars can point and light the way
and shine into tomorrow.
