Hi Everyone,

Well. I'm stoked that its finally the frigging weekend, and I don't have to be surrounded by people for two whole days.

I didn't get the job that I applied for. Its a little bit gutting being rejected, but s**t happens, and thats life.

I still love my current job. Its just that sometimes it can be a little bit taxing, and tiring, and it tries my patience. Oh well. What doesn't kill us - makes us stronger.

I still have to finish writing my weeks quota this weekend. I'm looking forward to some decent undisturbed writing time.
It will be nice.

Anyways. Its nearly 10 at night - and I have managed to consume a fair amount of alcoholic berverages today. ( I was trying to get over the rejection. The alcohol was helping!) Well. Thats my story anyway!

Its bedtime.

Apologies - I have been such a slack-ass with this lately!

Leigh's Mini Update:

Now at 66,386 words of my book.

Aiming to write a minimum of 4000 per week - then It will definately be finished in another 10 weeks. I can't wait. Its very exciting.

Job interview tomorrow - for the management promotion. *fingers crossed*

I start my next big qualification on Monday. That will go for 6 months - and then I will have another degree to my name. By the end of it though - I will probably never want to have anything ever to do with it again. Very typical me - I'm afraid!

Studying will probably mean that I won't get nearly as much done on my book. *sigh*

Family keep staying at our house - Its becoming very taxing!

And... last but not least - It has been a very busy time at work lately - so I cant wait to get to the weekend.

Oh - and just before I started to write this - I successfully deleted my entire iTunes library. Arn't I frigging clever!!

So - thats about it at the moment. I have been watching far too many movies lately, and drinking far too much wine. But - I don't really care.

I have been thinking about moving to another country to get a better paying job... but I'm locked into my company for a minimum of another year. Its nice to think about though. I was thinking of working 8 months of the year - and leaving the husband here in NZ. Then I could come home for the other four months - and not work.

I think thats sounding like a pretty peachy plan at the moment.

Anyhoo - We shall just have to see what happens with that.

I had better hit the sack. (go to bed - if anyone didn't understand what I meant!)

Hi Everyone

Well, I have been working away solidly, and I am starting to see some good results. Not to mention, I'm feeling good about the book.

I know that I should probably do some work on my short stories that need tweaking, but i'm too focused on getting the big book finished at the moment. Maybe when I'm blocking a little - I should work on the short stories.

Work is all good. Fairly quiet. I'm applying for a promotion in my office. It would mean a heck of alot more money... and probably less work! Go figure.
But we will just have to wait and see with that one. *fingers crossed*

I did manage to tell my boss today that I was applying for another job. She actually started laughing at me. She thought I was joking. Then she was a little depressed when she finally realised that I wasn't kidding.

My friend approached me today, and asked me if I wanted to start a bookshop with her. We worked out some details etc. Looks like a good idea if I could convince a bank to lend us a heap of money. Its a nice thought.

Oh well. Anyway - I'm at work at the moment - so I better go!

Hi Peoples

Well - This is just a quick entry, as I'm trying to get some writing done while I have the chance.

I had an interesting day yesterday. I managed to get a heap written which I was chuffed about.

A bizarre thing did happen however - and that was when I was writing a sex scene in my book. I had my headphones on listening to music - trying to drown out my mother-in-law, so I couldn't hear anything but music, when I realised that she was actually behind me reading this sex scene I was writing!

SERIOUSLY!
Do you know how awkward that was for me? I did not know how to react to it - and then she started looking at me funny. She is never reading the bloody book when its finished. I don't know how many more awkward looks I could take from her.
Here she is - thinking that I'm all sweet and innocent - which is how I would like to keep it - and then she reads a dirty sex scene that I had written. All of a sudden i'm not so sweet and innocent anymore!

Sigh.

Nevermind.

Anyway - Better hit the book. Just thought that I would have a wee rant!

Hi People

Well - I have have had an incredibly busy week at work. Which was awful - but its alright - because now its the weekend.

I can see that I've been neglecting my blog a little, but I have been trying to write my book.

I have given myself 3 months to finish it. I'm pretty sure that I can achieve this - as long as I stay focused, and I don't suffer from any writers block.
So - Hopefully it will be finished by August 10th 2007. Then i'll have to do a crap load of cutting and editing - but that was always gonna happen.

Its times like these when I wish that I still smoke. Lately I have been craving nicotine alot - but I suspect that some of the cravings have something to do with the stress at work.

It makes me realise more that I need to win lotto. I'm keeping my fingers crossed though that I'm going to win it tonight. That would solve alot - and I wouldn't have to work anymore - and I would be able to pretty much write full time, and travel around the world. Wouldn't that be fantastic!? I think it would be great! *sigh*

I'm such a little travel bug. I just can't help it.

My book is going really well at the moment, i'm very focused on it - which makes me very happy indeed.

That's the thing about people who don't write - is that they haven't got a clue what its like when we have writer's block. Its very upsetting. They also don't realise how wonderful it is for us when we are writing, and writing well.

I know that it makes me incredibly happy. I feel on top of the earth. Its like being on drugs. (Which i'm definately not!) But - its a very nice feeling.

Anyway - I'm now over my rant at how great writing is.
I'm pretty sure you all know what its like.


Anyway - I better get back to writing while I have the chance to do it. My mother-in-law is staying with us at the moment. She's contantly fluffing around me though. Chatter chatter chatter. I can't even think when she's around, she banging, crashing, baking, talking, and cleaning. All the time. Which while I silently go nuts, I will put up with it. (Its cos i'm nice.) At the moment she's watching a DVD which gives me approximately 2 hours to write. Good huh.

Anyway - really better go now. Gotta get about another 4 thousand words written before the weekend is over - and right now - my writing time is precious.

Hi People

Well - Its been a pretty busy week, and I'm super pleased that its nearly the weekend again.

I have set myself a goal for writing this weekend - and have decided that I'm going to get to 60,000 words - at least before the weekend is over. I should be able to do it if I knuckle down, and be disciplined.

It just means that I have to get all my editing out of the way quickly, and I have to stop procrastinating about it.

Its a stunning day here today - chrystal clear. Beautiful. Its the best day we have had since we got back from Australia. Its freezing cold though. I actually had to sleep under extra blankets last night, it was freezing. Then the lovely husband of mine climbed out of bed half an hour early to turn on the heating so that it would be toastie-warm by the time I got up! Awww.

Tonight on the way home from work - I was a bit hungry. So we stopped in at Nandos - Its a Flame Grilled Portuguese Chicken place, which serve 1/2 chickens, quarter chickens, full chickens - the works right?
Well. I kid you not - They had run out of chicken! It's 5pm on a friday night, and they are so disorganised they have run out. The shop is empty, and looks like it has been for weeks - and they have run out.
What is this world coming to - may I ask? Where have all the chickens gone?
(Anyways. That was just a temporary bout of insanity. )

Its been a really long week at work this week - and to be quite frank - I'm glad that its over for a couple of days.
The company I work for has won a High Court battle today, which is really great news. It has made work that much harder recently, but we won - which is the best thing. No doubt they will throw a party for us soon.

Oh - and my flimsy watch started working again! Would you believe it!

Oh well - Time for bed I'm afraid. I need my brain to recharge.

Hi Everyone,

Well - I had a fantastic day at work today.

It all started off with my team writing really nice emails to me about how great I am, and then management told me that they couldn't do without me EVER, and that I was priceless.

Its a shame they dont demonstrate that with increasing my paycheck each week. *sigh*

Its nice to know that i'm wanted though.

Well - as for my weekend - I officially achieved NOTHING! *sigh*
Its a shame really, because I really had hopes and dreams to try and finish the chapter that I'm currently on... but no. I procrastinated. But - it was fun while I was doing it.

Oh - I wrecked my flimsy watch today at work. That really pissed me off. I mean - it was flimsy to begin with - but then when I was washing my hands, it got wet and died. Useless piece of Junk.

Anyway - better get some writing done while I'm still motivated to do it.

Hi People

Well, I have been back at work for two days - thats 16 hours... and THANK GOD it's the weekend. 48 Hours - AWAY from the office. Bliss.

I'm hoping like mad that I will win the lottery this weekend, and I never have to go back.

Actually - I do truly love my job - Yup - I'm one of 'those' people. Its just that I have been away on holiday, and i'm still in holiday mode - therefore I dont want to work.

But - Its the weekend, and I'm over halfway now with writing my book, over the hump, and I can see the end - in the distance somewhere. Which i'm pretty chuffed about.

I did have a brilliant holiday - and I realised that it was exactly what I needed. I'm feeling relaxed, tanned, refreshed, and I seem to be enthusiastic and energised again.

I think that I'll go to the Cook Islands in 6 months. It can now be a bi-annual thing. Bi-Annual holidays for me. Yup. Thats the plan.

Its absolutely freezing in New Zealand. I'm all brown from my holiday, and I come back, and its cold and dreary. No one can even tell that I actually have a tan - because I am wearing that many clothes trying to keep warm!

Anyway - I should probably go to bed now. I just thought that I had better update my blog, as a few reminders have come through. Woops.

Hi Everyone,

I chose the RED today - cos I officially look like a lobster.

Well - today was my last day in Surfers Paradise... tomorrow we go to Brisbane - and then on Tuesday - we fly home again.

I think i have been bitten by a spider or something, cos i have something nasty on my arm. Not sure though - I should probably get it checked out.

While I have been sunbathing - I have managed to get a bit of writing done - so now I cant wait to get home to my own computer to type it all up.

I will miss the sun and the shopping though. I have managed too pretty much scorch myself here - so I am hoping that I will get a good tan from it. Just in time for the winter back home.

Anyway - better go - I need to repack - trying to fit everything into my suitcase! (I keep buying stuff!)

Hi Everyone

Well - I am currently on holiday, which is nice and all - but I do miss home. I am typing on the crappiest keyboard in the world - so please excuse any mistakes.

I miss my house - and all my stuff, and i really miss my cat Ted.

BUT - on the bright side - It's super hot here, and thats really lovely - hopefully i'll get a tan...... and i'm spending a crap load of money - on all sorts of things. Which is pretty fun. (I've bought four pairs of shoes I love shoes!)

I havent however managed to have any time to myself since we got here - maybe an hour? Its driving me a little bit mental actually. I'm either wth my sister or my husband. Grrr. I mean - i love them both - but sometimes I just need a little time out. Just a little.

Shit happens - hence why it will be nice when I get home.

And - Oh My God - i have hardly managed to do any writing!! Because I haven't had any time to my self!! Grrr.

Anyway people - gotta go. (better be socialble - if you know what I mean.)

Well - I'm off on holiday in the morning. Thank God. I truly need the break.
My husband has decided that I'm not allowed to take the laptop - becuase he doesn't reckon that its very relaxing when i'm working on my book!

Oh well. Each to their own. He will just have to put up with me being bitchy cos I cant write.
I just have to write on paper - and then type up the masses when I get back. He just does NOT UNDERSTAND!!!! Oh well. *sigh*
I may log on however sometimes.. and update my blog or something.

Will miss this joint. *sniffs* This is a great place to get support. You all know who you are.

Hi Everyone,

Boy what a weekend. I love Easter - and the Easter that we just had was the first Easter in 9 years that I have actually stayed home, and done nothing.

My husband did however have to go into work on Monday night to do something (to do with sport?!) and then - bless his heart - he was caught speeding on his way home again.
When he sheepishly walked in the door late - He then had the audacity to then say:
"I wasn't going to tell you - because you would hassle me about it."
To which I replied:
"Whatever do you mean dear?" With a perfectly calm look on my face. (I will just add here that I have NEVER been caught speeding.)
"Well" He replied. "You hassled me when I backed through the garage door."
Hello??? He backed through the garage door - and he was only going 5km/hour!!!!
I walk faster than that - and he still managed to back through the garage door! Of course I am going to hassle him about it - even if I wasn't married - I would still hassle him - cos thats just plain stupid!

Anyway. We all make mistakes. Right? Apparently.

So - anyways - I had a really awful day at work today. Nearly cried a couple of times in fact - and seriously considered buying a bottle of whiskey at the local coffee shop this morning.
I could have quite happily tippled away all day at work - as long as it was gonna make the pain go away. Then I would have been quite happy to go back to work tomorrow - because I wouldn't have had a clue what had happened today - because I would have been ripped. Sounds good huh?.

I so could have gotten away with that too.

Anyway - better go make dinner now.

Hi Everyone

Well - I have just had four days off thanks to Jesus Christ. (Well - i'm on my forth today.) I'm not used to raving about Jesus Christ - but he sure know's how to get us holidays. Its Great!

My husband is always saying that its a load of codswollop, and they were all technically pagan holidays anyway. But - I don't really care - as long as i get a decent break from my real job - in my real world.

Something new has happened to me recently. I think I have turned into a Muse. No kidding. I'm being quite serious.
Definition: In Greek mythology, the Muses are fifty goddesses or spiritual guides who embody the arts and inspire the creation process with their graces through remembered and improvised song and stage, writing, traditional music and dance.
Blah, blah, bah - But I think I am one. Technically - I'm from the future - considering I live in New Zealand - so thats kinda magic. And I keep inspiring people, and giving people idea's. See? I am a muse! (Not so sure about the goddess thing - but we can't all be perfect!)

I found the missing easter eggs. Actually - I found about half of them. You see - it turns out - that I didn't put them anywhere - my husband did. He put them into his stomach. And then he blamed the cat. I mean - I have heard of people blaming the dog for numerous things - but the cat?! I know he's a fat wee bugger - but i'm pretty sure he doesn't like chocolate. He likes chocolate moose, and blue vein cheese.

Anyway - I will be going away in a few days on another holiday. I'm really looking forward to it. I'm gonna plonk my ass on the beach, and do sweet FA.
Hopefully my husband will let me take a computer so I can get some writing done. (Not sure if he will though!)

Thats the thing really - he doesn't see me sitting at the computer writing my book as relaxing. Where as - I don't see sport as a relaxing thing. I actually find writing one of the most relaxing things in the world - Apart from when I have writer's block. But - we all know what thats like!
I am not the only one in the world who suffer's miserably when that comes to visit.

Anyway - better go - i'm writing a lot at the moment - and I keep getting idea's. Maybe I'm a muse to myself as well? I know that I 'amuse' myself quite easily.
God - i'm funny.

Anyhoo - Better hit the writing.

Happy Easter Everyone,

Well, at my house - we are hunting and gathering easter eggs. Problem is - is that I can't remember where we put them all. You see - most people go on easter egg hunts, and they lay out a big special hunt, and put eggs around the place.

Well - unfortunately - I haven't quite done that.

Because - when we got home from the supermarket the other day, I know we put them somewhere - but I cant find them - Anywhere. And believe me - this is not an example of an early set in of Alzheimer’s.

It's completely frustrating. After all - the shops are not open at the moment, and hello? Its chocolate - and there is a crap load of it in the house somewhere - and I cant eat it!

Anyway.
Just thought I would let my little frustration out on this, as i had a reminder pop into my inbox, and decided that I had better write something - or else i would feel guilty.

Better go - its bed time.

Woohoo! Stopped smoking for 1 year, and 1 day! What a legend.

Well - I have to say - I have now managed to not have a cigarette for one year - and one day. Amazing. I did however - celebrate the one year anniversary with a cigarette.

Just kidding. Man i'm funny... but it nearly did happen.
It would have defeated the purpose really. It would be a bit like decaf coffee - I mean - what is the point? If your gonna have a cup of coffee - you have it for the caffeine? Right? Apparently not. Apparently people want to drink it because it tastes really good. I drink it because i'm addicted to it. Is anyone surprised here? I get addicted to everything. I loved being addicted to fags, but - anyone who reads my work can probably tell.

Anyhoo - i've been on the road for two days with my real job. Its been a bit ruff, having to work and all, but i did celebrate the not smoking thing with a couple of wines, and then woke up this morning with a hell of a hangover. Maybe it was a couple of bottles - but who's complaining? (Apart from me?) I find that alcohol helps the brain juice get flowing when i'm writing. Its lovely. All sorts of crap flows out of me, and then when i re-read it I have to go and cut a whole lot out. But - it is great for the idea's.

Anyway - should probably cook dinner now.

Hi Everyone, or no one - depends on if you read these things...

Well, this is my first entry into this thing, and as you can tell from the title - its been 364 days since I last had a cigarette.

You can probably tell from reading my work, that I still haven't got over it.
In fact - most of my characters smoke! I should probably edit half of that rubbish out - but for the moment - its a good filler - if you know what I mean - at least until I decide what I want to do with them. (They have to have some sort of vice.)

I still think about smoking - I still dream about it, and I also know that tomorrow (A whole year of not smoking) I could pick up a packet. Sad isn't it.

Anyhoo - I'm starting to get to the point in this where I don't know what to say anymore... so I might just leave it at that.

(But - I would just like to say that I had a crap day at work today )
