Well, for those of you who actually read my blog, I've just written a new inspirational kind of article that needs reviews. My mom said is sounds like Max Lucado...but I guess that isn't necessarily bad because he's a good Christian writer. Anyway, if you get the time, let me know what you think. Thanks!

Well, I've finally decided I am going to post my novel on Writing.Com as soon as I begin seriously writing it. I didn't want to before because I had hoped to publish it. Although I still want to publish it, if it's good enough, I need to be realistic too. Most author's first novels don't get published. I know I'll be published someday, but probably not in the next 2 or 3 years...at least not a novel. Maybe a short story.
But don't think this means I won't be writing as much! I plan to finish plotting out my novel this week and begin writing as soon as possible. I realized that I've been telling myself for the last year or so that I would sit down and write it when I had the time. Well, I'm out of high school and in college and now have even less time. When this is over with, I'll have a full-time career and still not have a lot of free time. I realized that if this is something important that I want to do in my life, I need to simply make the time...and stop procrastinating. So hopefully you guys will be able to read the first chapter in just a few weeks. I'm excited about getting started on this novel because of all the plots I've come up with, this one is by far my favorite because of its dynamic characters. I'm always depressed when I'm not writing a novel. Maybe that's weird but it's true, for me.
Anyway, that's all I have to ssay about my writing. As for the world of sports, which is also a big thing in my life (don't laugh), this was a good weekend. My Michigan Wolverines beat Penn State who was ranked #10 so hopefully people will shut up about us being a crappy team just because we started 0-2. Also the Carolina Panthers beat the Atlanta Falcons--in Atlanta. It doesn't get any better than that. Yes, it was a good weekend.

So I just finished reading Girl, Interrupted by Susanna Kaysen for my sociology class. There's a list of about a dozen questions, concepts, and ideas that I need to know for Tuesday. I don't think we're having a test over it but who knows. Anyway, I don't really have any homework to do today. . .just study.
I also need to write a poem. The only thing different about this one is it will probably be the hardest thing I've ever written. My grandpa is in hospice care at this moment, dying. This has been a 3 month battle with recovery from acute pancreatitis, but he got an infection after a minor surgery to remove a blood clot near his stomach. Anyway, he isn't going to make it. Just a couple days ago my mom told me that my grandma wanted me to write a poem specially for my grandpa that would somehow be presented at his funeral. I'm not sure exactly what, but regardless, I need to think of a poem now.
I've never been one to come up with poetry on the spot and this is the hardest. Well, I probably need to go work on that, in addition to studying. Until next time...

Before you begin reading, I'll just forewarn you that this particular entry will be many useless facts about me, The Messenger, and who I am, where I'm from, etc. I've had enough people ask me questions I decided I would make it the first entry in my blog. So here it goes. . .
My real name is Andrew Wayne Kerbs. I'm 19 and I live in western North Carolina. Currently, I am attending community college for my first semester. Right now I'm just taking general ed. classes and in a year or so I'll transfer to a 4-year University. I'm either going to major in Psychology or English. Probably Psychology though.
Well, if you haven't heard enough so far there's more.
I was born in Brunswick, Maine, but I grew up in the South. A couple years in Tennessee, but I grew up in Charlotte. Like I said, I'm living in western North Carolina. Hendersonville to be exact.
I'm a Seventh-day Adventist. Yes, I'm a Christian. SDAs are a Protestant denomination, for those who haven't heard of us.
I have a wonderful girlfriend who I've been dating nearly 15 months now. Her name is Victoria. She lives a couple hours away so I see her only about once every 2 or 3 weeks. Even though most people don't like distance relationships, this one has worked out great. I'll probably even be transferring to a college near her.
As for my writing, I'm still planning on writing a novel, though I haven't worked on it in a little while. Over the past few weeks I've decided that getting published isn't my ultimate goal in writing. Don't get me wrong, I want to get published very much so and I will certainly pursue that. But the important thing is writing the stories that I feel impressed to share with the world. . .in my case that would be Writing.Com. I've found so many supportive and helpful people on this website, and I don't plan on leaving anytime soon. I write because it is how I express my ideas and feelings. Publication isn't my only goal anymore.
Well, I can't think of anything else right now. I need to go to sleep so I can get up early enough to get all of my sociology homework done. I'll be writing more later. . .maybe it will actually be interesting!
Until next time...
