Blog. WOOT!
I get so many random thoughts while I'm writing. I may as well put them down somewhere.

When I write I sit at my computer for hours at a time. When you do this, it's easy for your mind to wander. This will be the place I post these thoughts as well as progress for stories I'm writing. Woot.

I'm up late working on an Action/Adventure story for a contest. Won't go to bed until I finish. I know I'm going to regret this when I work tomorrow.

Long day today, especially since I have a new novel idea involving monster hunters. That'll make it tough to concentrate. Good times.

I got a response to a review I gave. I was actually pretty tactful and gave good positive suggestions. Here's the response:

I should know better than to try and fool you discriminating writing.com critics who have taken the course. You all know what elements are "essential for a good story-conflict." Did you get the certificate? If I'd spent $ 35 for the course, I'd definitely go the extra $ 25 for the certificate. All those grammar and punctuation nits you've made are pure BS, just your opinions. I won't even go into why I wrote them like I did. I'm sorry you had to waste 2,605 characters on this. No one else had. It's just a little story. Thanks, I guess.

For one thing, if you didn't want an honest review, don't post it on the review request page. Also, I did non know that I had invented proper grammar and punctuation. Apparently good grammar is just in my opinion. I've never taken a WDC certificate course. Maybe a minor in English had told me what grammar was proper and what grammar was not. That's just my opinion though. :)

6.  A harsh reviewID #702300

I had to give someone two stars today in a review. It sucks when you have to be honest, but it's necessary. My girlfriend agrees, except when it comes to something she writes. Then she wants me to tell her what she wants to hear. P.S. The two stars I gave was not anything that my girlfriend wrote. :)

I'm having a lot of fun today reviewing work. There's so much talent on this site, which makes me want to get even better with my own writing. I will be perfect one day. It may be 40 years from now, but I will be. For now, the best way to practice is to write and critique.

I just got home finally. I have to write something in the next 2 hours. I came up with the crazy idea this morning to complete a new short story or poem by the end of each day, even if it's a hundred words long. I might not even have time to finish one on the first day!!!!!!!!! Maaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was planning on a day of writing, but my girlfriend has a different idea. Looks like I'm shopping today. Yay!

I just don't like not (on purpose double negative) having a computer around. I forget half my story ideas because I don't have anything to put them down on when I'm out and about. Plus, an idea I have at 8 in the morning, won't seem as appealing to me at 5 in the afternoon because I'll play it over and over in my head until I become bored with my own idea. That's why when I get a story idea, I just free write, quickly edit, then I'm done with it. Otherwise it'll nag at me all day, then I won't write it out of spite for it being such a pain in the behind.

I'm not much of a poet, but the following is kind of how it is for me:

Off to see Inception again. That movie is insanely good.

1.  Thinking about everything but my next short story.ID #702029
Posted: 7-21-2010 @ 9:14 pm EDT

Why is it so hard to focus today? I'm sitting here watching my girlfriend play video games. I'm supposed to be finishing up short stories for the contests that end on the 31st I'm getting so easily distracted by everything around me. I did have one brilliant idea though. We had two frozen cheese pizzas in the freezer, and I was going to cook one up for dinner. I didn't think the one I was going to make had enough cheese on it so I opened up the other one and brushed all the cheese on that one onto the one I was going to cook. I thought I was genius. She thought I was stupid. :(

Post thought. I'm going to have Mike Sanderfield in my Nate Gillen mystery series do that in one of the short stories. That seems like something Mike would do. Shameless plug for the series below.
