Life Can't Be Edited

A blank page. A splash of ink, the scratching of a pen, as words cover the virgin canvas, pouring out the contents of the writer's soul. Or maybe just an entry about a boring day shopping. That's journals for you. Even the author doesn't know where the next day will take them, as life can only ever be unpredictable. Journals are based around reality, not fiction and we all know that real life can't be edited.

309.  Update on decisions, without that many decisionsID #407422
Posted: 2-17-2006 @ 2:20 pm EST

Okay, I said no to Swindon. Felt bad, but Colne Valley need me - at least up till the local elections in May.

Have made it very clear to the chairman that I will have to seek another job past that, and I'm doing it as a favour as I'd feel bad about leaving them in the lurch. I don't think she's registered that properly, and is presuming I'll give in and stay afterwards but in my mind I've done what I can to warn them.

Now Swindon have asked if I could do there part time as well.

This would be great if the two weren't around 250 miles apart. That is not a nice commute! But it's nice to know that Swindon still do really want me Wink

Well I have two (sort of) job offers. Neither is great.

Colne Valley want to keep employing me, but can only do so part time. Basically the maximum they could afford is £1000 a month, which is a lot less than I was getting before (admittedly it would be on a part time not a full time basis).

Swindon have offered me a two month contract, up till the local elections on (once again) £1000 a month, plus accomodation, as it's a long way from here. They say there may be a proper job afterwards but there's no guarantees: it'd just be a stop-gap to keep me solvent while looking for another long term job.

Colne Valley is clearly the better offer... but if I stay there now it will be difficult to leave later on. They will do their best into guilting me into staying there long term and will also be feeling they've done me a favour. If I want to make a clean break the best time is now... but there's no guarantee I'll get something nearby again in the future.

Week one of diet: weight loss five and a half pounds.

And now diet related rant of the day.

Moving office equipment and ended up stuck having to eat in KFC because my brother was with me. I look at the menu and decided the chicken wrap was probably the best thing on it and had one, no fries.

I bought the eating out book tonight. Every single burger was better than the wrap, I could even have had fried chicken piece and fries. And what's worse is I didn't even enjoy the wrap much as it has mayonnaise in it, which I can't stand. *Angry*

Ah well, at least I have the book now....

It's finally breaking apart. The office is closing down tomorrow, although I've been told to expect to be tied up with paperwork and sorting till the end of the month.

I am about to become unemployed.

In the last week I have done the following excercise classes:

Stretch and tone
Mind, body & soul
Tri-balance
Boxercise
Gym ball

Now admittedly I didn't start weight watchers till yesterday, but with the additional excercise (on top of my normal activity, such as leafletting) you would think it would have made some difference.

And it has. The difference in weight of the week is... I have put on three pounds *Cry*

Not exactly the result I wanted Pthb And I can't see any Arnold Schwarznegger resemblence to say it's all muscle!

304.  If you want to lose weightID #405217

Forget weight watchers, forget the gym... try Boxing!

Just been to a Boxercise class: an hour's worth of punches, press ups, crunches and running. Am absolutely exhausted and doubt I will be able to move very well tomorrow.

Thank god there's only one of these classes a week, there's no way I'd cope with one a day! Very good excercise though.

303.  Well they had the SGMID #405114

And needless to say no firm decisions were made *Angry*

Basically not enough people with a say turned up. Some decisions could be made but not any really major ones, so another meeting has been called for a week on Thursday.

Meanwhile I have to deal with the creditors calling about unpaid bills....

I went to two classes yesterday Smile A morning and an evening one! In all honesty the evening one was crap, far too basic, but the morning one wasn't bad.

Doubt I'll do any classes today, but I'm leafletting for most of tomorrow so at least I'll be doing plenty of walking then.

After two years as a senior moderator I finally get a serious bribe. Not sure what for yet, but hey, who cares about the details? *Laugh*

In other news, I am getting serious about this weight loss business. Besides agreeing to go to weight watchers with Karen next Tuesday I have now also got details of excercise classes at the local leisure centre. On available times I can start with Pilates tomorrow (7am - 8am) and do Salsa next Tuesday (weight watchers allowing). Business meetings do tend to get in the way of things, but I don't have them consistently every week, it just means I'll probably try several different things instead of one class consistantly.

Wish me luck. And feel free to be really nasty to me if I post in here later on saying I'm not sticking to this... humiliation often works *Laugh*
