My wimmins are getting together tonight and I want to be there RIGHT NOW! I wasn't planning on going because I'm exhausted and they were meeting at someone's house that is FAR AWAY. But now they are meeting at a different house, right around the corner. Well, like 7 minutes away. Compared to the distance to drive to the first person's house, it's right around the corner.

BUT, I accepted a writing job and they want the first keyword article tonight. And I know if I don't do it now, it won't get done. I've never done one of these before. So now I've got to pull 600 words outta my butt, under time pressure 'cause I want to be elsewhere.

Money begats money, and I need money. So back to writing I go....
 

I'm making an effort and planning to write content for my two websites every day for the next 30 days. I did two posts today! woo hoo! They've been languishing for lack of content, and I'm sick of it.

Day 1

We had freezing rain today. Pretty but a pain in the patooey since preschool closed today. No other schools closed, but being a small, private (cooperative) school, we decided not to risk it. Plus some of our teachers drive up from an area that got hit worse. And our stuff didn't start until 6 am and we had no idea how bad it would get. (Not too bad, by the way--at lease where I had to be today.)

Kiddo plucked every last one of my nerves. And some I didn't know that I even had! Tomorrow we're going to a playdate at a friends house, but that won't give me any quiet time since I'll be hanging out too. It will be nice to spend some time with my friend though.

Gotta do a massive emergency clean tomorrow. The de-installer and repair guys are coming to fix the big TV on the wall and the area where they need to work is littered with toys. *sigh* I've enjoyed (mostly) my time without the big noisy box chattering away all the time.

I should hear in the next 8 weeks.

My fantasy? They read my application tonight and tomorrow there is an invitation in my e-mail asking me to join the prep program.

I always crash afterwards. Right now I'm depressed and weepy, when before the poptarts, I was simply tired. Of course, I ate 2 packs today. One after lunch (or for lunch, depends on how you look at it) and one after dinner (clearly after dinner).

I'm 400 calories over my count for today (thanks to that second pack of poptarts) though my carbs is way outta control. I could go walk tonight at the Y, after hubby comes home. But what are the odds of that really happening?

These long teaching days are tough. Hubby won't be home until after 7, after rushing out of here before 8:30 this morning. It's tough on both of us.

I'm gonna go drink some water and clean up the kitchen.

Got the stuffy nose, scratchy throat thing. Started this afternoon.

I did walk a 1 /14 miles this morning at the Y.

Kiddo has poison ivy on his scrotum. Poor kid.

The fish are constipated. Sheesh.
 

Laundry in, almost ready to be switched.
Whites folded and put away. (woo hoo! I hate folding whites and they tend to build up in a basket, a clean basket.)
Kiddo in bed and asleep before 9.
Healthy dinner made, kitchen cleaned up before and after.
Showered.
Shaved.
Flossed.
Washed.

It's 9:51 pm and I'm heading off to bed with my Reiki book. No TV for me tonight. Hubby is taping CSI for me. He's watching football.

Putting off until tomorrow? Making kiddo's lunch. Opting for warm bed instead.

I did have a migraine today. Managed to get by with just one pill. It seems to be gone.

I took time to go get coffee with Tracy after dropping the kids off at school. Both of us were late! I also braved my fear and approached a friend about some weirdness going on, trying to resolve the situation. It's not, yet, but I feel better for broaching the subject.

We also went to the park after school. Kiddo then spent the afternoon (3:30-5:30)lying on the couch watching TV. He was beat from his late night last night and early morning (up at 4:30 due to itching and crawled into bed with us after getting anti-itch cream) and then up for the day at 7 am). His poison ivy is still troublesome, though the few spots near his eye don't seem to be bothering him too much. No need to go to the Dr.

He got a marble run game from Santa...it has the pieces that you stack up and then drop a marble in the top and watch it go. He's dying to make the construction that is shown on the label, so we started trying to build it.

And the fish...I couldn't forget the fish. Tracy had a 1 gal. tank for us, so the injured one is in there now. Thankfully I started prepping some water yesterday so it was ready to use today. Both tanks are next to each other and now they are posturing and trying to get to eachother through the plexiglass. The little one (the injured one) seems to be eating and looks like she'll survive this attack. Since they are both in new tanks, they need to go through the nitrogen cycle (or something, can't remember what it's called) so they'll be a bit stressed for a while longer while the healthy bacteria grow and multiply. Someone on freecycle has a 2 gal bowl for us, so that will help. I'd like them to be both in the same size tank to make the cleaning routine easier.

I hate coming up with entry titles sometimes. What to say, what to say.

Kiddo just passed out. Yes, it's after 10. I'd say he went down right at 10, very late for him. I think his poison ivy is really bothering him.

Still have two live fishies. Though the injured one is moving a little slow. I might defrost a pea and give them little betta size bites for one of their meals tomorrow. I hear they love that and need fiber.

Drum circle was fun. We did a guided meditation in the middle, which was all about self acceptance. Donk! I'm getting hit over the head with that message. Someone at Quaker Meeting brought that up as well as their vocal ministry. Twice in one day! Guess it's time to start listening.

I'm off to bed. I need to start going to bed earlier so I can get up earlier, AKA on time. When I oversleep, it screws up the rest of the day. And I'm tired of being tired, and grouchy, and short tempered with hubby and kiddo. And if kiddo has gone to bed so late, that's going to make tomorrow even more diffucult.
 

The two fish are fighting. Go figure, they are fighting fish. But the females were supposed to be OK to put together. I took one out and put her back into the little cup she came in and started prepping water for a larger bowl. It's so not in my budget to buy anything else so I'm going to ask on freecycle to see if anyone has something. In the meantime, I've a large vase that I can put her in, I'll just be changing water fairly often. *sigh* I hope she survives! Her fins were a bit torn up and she was floating on the bottom and wouldn't go up to the top. I took her out since they need to go the top to breath and I was afraid the aggressor wasn't letting her move.

Kiddo has sprouted a case of poison ivy on his face with some around one eye. I've put cream everywhere but the eye and given him an ice pack to use on the eye when it gets bad. A bit of Tylenol helped wonders. It's made for a tough day for me though, since he was so clingy. It was like he was trying to crawl back inside me. I got so tired of being the mommy. I just wanted a little space between us.

I'm going to be late for drumming tonight. I want to finish this and then I have to get gas on the way.

Didn't get my writing samples done. Pissed me off. I should have stayed home from Quaker Meeting for some quiet time, but then, I really needed quiet time there.

I'm so not the parent I want to be right now. I'm tired and grumpy all the time and it's affecting kiddo. He's so high energy and it takes so much of me to deal with him. Lately I've been easily frustrated and quick to snap and use my loud voice.

I'm not the person I want to be either. I'm stressing over money. I'm being pulled in too many directions. I tried to do a flyer for Tupperware earlier this week and never finished...and here I am when I wanted to have them all distributed and I haven't even finished it. *sigh*
 

We bought kiddo two female betta fish today, and a tank to keep them in. They said at the store not to use the filter since betta like still water. I'm already wondering if that's a good idea or not.

I used filtered water and a water conditioner and it's all sitting out overnight to percolate before we put the fishies in tomorrow. I'm reading that actually putting the fishies in tomorrow might overstress them. It might have been a mistake to buy them the same day as the equipment. *sigh*

He named them Goofy and Anna.
 

All of a sudden it's 5 pm and I haven't hardly touched my to do list for today. I started out with high hopes and here I am with only one thing off my list.

OK...after writing it out, more than one thing got worked on, but only one thing completed.

I'm disappointed that I didn't get the About.com thing done when I had brain power. And that I didn't get it done today. I'm a needing $$, so sitting on an income opportunity is not a good thing.

Ugg...10 hour drive today. It took 90 mins to go 20 miles at one point. Damn WV and VA! We're soo tired of being in the car. When we got home, kiddo ran out to the end of the driveway and started shouting to the whole world that we were home and NO MORE VISITS! That kid was such a trooper.

Ohhhh...I've just upset a whole lot of people. I just posted a message on one of my yahoo groups about copyright issues and supported someone who is being slammed. That's not going to go over well. Apparently someone's personal forms were distributed when they shouldn't have been, and then were posted in the files section of a yahoo group. The group owner didn't realize they weren't supposed to be shared. The author wrote to the group owner asking them to be taken down and a whole huge bruhaha has ensued with character assignations and everything. It's a mess. And I just jumped into the fray when I read an e-mail message stating that the author didn't own the copyright. I couldn't let that one go by.

I received an e-mail from my wonderful sister in law asking me if I thought if she could use something that she'd received via a huge shared e-mail as a handout. I did some research, found the source, and discovered that the site had an open copyright policy, so she could.

I'm sure I'll be updating about the situation on the yahoo group. We'll see what transpires. I'm on daily digest, so the flood of angry responses won't come until later, unless I break down and check the website.
 

Overslept, rushed to preschool, got there late, decompressed while attending a book club meeting, had a good morning, a stressful lunchtime, a headache in the early afternoon, medicine and a nap in mid afternoon, and a nice dinner and a good evening. Dinner was hotdogs, but with roasted cauliflower and chopped broccolli.
