Damn! The Falcons just lost. To Seatle. I don’t think any of them ate their Wheaties this morning. Well, ok. So its more than a wheaties problem. And now, Michael Vick has a bit of a hamstring thing…

14.  Another poem about warding off depression WIPID #373735
Posted: 9-18-2005 @ 4:02 pm EDT
Edited: 9-18-2005 @ 5:37 pm EDT

I will not pull out the knife
Nor will I cut my skin
I will chase away those thoughts
Not let depression win

I will cuddle with creativity
Type the words of my soul
Swim in the success of others
Let writing make me whole

but then, there are these words:
It’s all a joke, a big façade, a jacket I slip my arms into when reality strikes me cold, rendering me useless. I zip up my hoodie tight. Snuggling in its warmth. Don’t I look good?

Struck by a momentary wave of depression, I am writing my way through it.

Stepping over th corpses, I tip toe

And thn, struck by flashes of joyfulness

I grab your wrist and dance

Waves of depression slap my soul as I step over rotting corpses.
Stench overtakes my nostrils

Nausea floods my hope, dreams, fantasies

Shut your silly stupid trap and hand me the hammer.

Fascinated by your poetry
Its soft descriptive imagery
Expressions stated lovingly
I squint my eyes and I can see
standing in a desperate plea
My soul who truly wants to be
The object of your destiny.

I came by to see you today.
You had already gone
Nothing left but skin and bones
Crumpled under sterilized white sheets
Tubes connecting you to this earth.

For reasons unexplained,
Death is not quite ready for you
Are you fighting it?
Scared and in pain?
Grasping to cling to the last moments of your life.

Lost

Encased in the choices I’ve made
Unable to move
Flinch a single muscle
Painful, frustrating, yet comforting

Mournful, tearful, cheeks wet

The thick white plaster covering my body is heavy.
Weighing down my heart, my mind, my spirit.
My lungs work hard to breathe

More than a blunder or oversight – a blatant uncaring error.
Born of selfishness

Yet a necessary gift. Opportunity.

Confused and torn by such an oxymoronic twist of events.
Aren’t my battle scars pretty?
Ugly
Torn and bleeding.

having a teenage daughter really keeps me up to date on slang. 'the world' is something she says often. so, i emailed a parent of a teenager, thanking him for a favor he had done for me. However, the entire favor has yet to be completely accomplished, so, i said..."I guess i don't owe you the world....just one hemisphere."

Interrupted
Frustrated again
Thoughts clawing against
my battered bleeding soul.
Splattered images entangled in swirls of confusion.
Only to be deciphered by imaginative souls possessing a love for artistic insanity.

7.  A review about a lost conceptID #354530
Posted: 6-19-2005 @ 12:43 pm EDT

Your words sadden me. Especially the last line and the use of 'happily ever after' a concept held dear for a much longer time than Santa Claus or the tooth fairy. It's nonexistent realization often hurts and produces - even if for a moment immobility.

I'm still struggleing with this as I can't decide where I'm going with this. I jotted down my ideas earlier in anohter journal. But this is where I plan on putting descriptions of enviroment. i.e rooms, towns, parks, stuff like that.

Unfortunately, restoration of lustful activities meant the people were preoccupied, and weren’t prepared for invasion of their city by the Stated/State who claimed they were making medications of mass ‘preoccupation’

An In and Out entry I posted, I like the sound of it...Fortunately, for the townsfolk of Whoville, the Grinch’s alliance w/ Santa, meant they could celebrate X-Mas in the traditional way; meaningless commercialism, excessive feasting, and greedy materialism. Cindy Lou Who was happy
