Well I’m sitting at work on the boat, I’m writing this in MS word cause I GOT NO INTERNET HERE !!! (lol) For the last few days here on the upper Chesapeake Bay we have had this dang warm front sittin on us and every night THIS DANG FOG has pounded us and ta tell ya the truth.. Even with all my electronic equipment on board…It pretty much SUCKS tryin to find these 700 to 900 foot ships… I’ve been doing this for about 23 years now…and I guess I’m old school…Even with all this blinkin-flickin-spinnin-beepin-whirlin-hunks of Navagation aids…OLE CC still finds himself stickin his head out the window and peerin thru the fog serchin FOR STUFF I CAN’T SEE !!!!
OH !!!! I got a GPS thing that tells me where I am within 3 feet on the face of this planet...And a Chart program that can tell me within 6 inches where I am in the shippin channel...OH AND I GOT…This thing that even tells me what everyone else around me is doing… YUP I got a heap of blinkin and spewin of information goin on here…. AND I SIT infront of all this stuff lookin and checkin and thinking…BUT YA KNOW WHAT !!

THATS ALL A HEAP OF CRAP !!!!! LOL
I’m dang Old and when I started this dang Job we didn’t have of this blinky stuff…I can remember going out WITH NOTHIN !!!... All they said was there a ship coming up the bay and gave me a time he would be up here and I’d wait until I thought the ship was close and say to the pilot I was takin out to this ship..HEY LETS GO !!!!... And well we would just leave …WAIT !!! I did have a depth finder back then… So what I’d do is just keep my boat in 10-15 foot of water just outside the channel and with all the windows open on the launch I would just go out and try to find a SHIP… Well How hard can it be !!!!...The dang things are on average 700’ long and 90 to 100’ wide….SO PIECE OF CAKE RIGHT !?!?!?! Well yeah… unless when ya find it.. that pointy part on the bow RUNS YOUR ARSE OVER !!!!! Heheheheee….. So the best thing to do is to ALMOST FIND IT !!!! LOL… Back in the day ya see… I’d would just have the launch in gear and during heavy Fog most of the time there is not a breath of air movin, so the water is dead calm….And I’d just poke along with my head stuck out the window with my ears wide open…and my eyes lookin for any kind of a wave telling me that the ship I’m lookin for has gone by me…OH YEAH and then I just wait for the stern wake to come and then follow that in until HOPEFULLY I see the dang ship before I HIT IT !!!! LOL !!!!! (I always think it’s a good idea the see something before I HIT IT)

But now with all this new blinkin-flashin-beepin stuff I got around…Not to mention the stuff up in space telling me where I am…I still got it in my head to stick my face out the window and peer out into the fog WHERE I CAN’t SEE NUFFIN !!!!
I CAN’T HELP IT !!!! I GOT TO LOOK !!!!!

And Now I have these Young Pilots and Apprentice Pilots and they have grown up with all this blinkin-beepin-flickerin stuff… And they just sit back and wounder WHAT THE HECK I’M DOING WITH MY HEAD STUCK OUT THE WINDOW LOOKIN AT THE FOG !!!! WHERE I CAN’T SEE NUFFIN !!!!....And yes they chuckle at my arse and then they start telling me how all them blinky things work and that I just should sit back and watch them instead of LOOKIN OUT THE DANG WINDER !!!!!

DATS when I peer back at them still wet behind the ear bunch of Well trained Maritime Collage – Severely Qualified heap of flicker-beepin- Instrament watchin experts and tell them…That I’m the Dang Captain of this Vessel and they need to stop laughin at me and show me some respect and just Sit back thar and SHUT UP… Cause If I want to stick my darn head out of the Winder…Well… I’LL STICK IT OUT THERE !!

And heck….I laugh at myself…. Heck I even got a thing that I can set on the radar that will beep at me if anything get within a ¼ mile of me…or what ever I set it for… So I know I’m not going to get run over out there… (CC thinks)… But while I’m waitin for that thing to alert me….well… The old Fart is gonna STICK HIS HEAD OUT !!!! just incase my dang BEEPIN THING IS BROKE !!!! My Mom is in the hospital again...It's her heart... It looks like I might have to go down there over the weekend or before... So It looks like I'm gona be mostly out...I just wanted to run and let ya all know whats up.

HECK !!!! I don’t even think he sleeps at night thinking about what he’s gonna do to me.

This morning I tried to remember just where…and how…and where…and what to click to fine this DANG STAT LIST FROM HADES !!!! and after awhile of sayin slightly off colored kinda words POW !!!!! there was the dang most viewed list.

Now what ya got to understand is…DAT MAN… is always telling me this…then that…then a heap of other stuff about these dang STATS !!!... HE FREAKS ME OUT !!
