Get Yer Kicks.....Entry #592177
Positive thinking is starting to make a difference in my life. Really, it is. I have a better sense of calm and peace. Happiness is easier to find.

We went on vacation last week. Drove out west and managed to visit seven different states (Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Nevada, and California). It was an awesome road trip. *Smile*

We explored bits of old Route 66, went to both Bryce and Zion Canyons. Rode a horse down into Bryce Canyon (my mount was fiesty, she kept biting Eric's mule on the booty every time we stopped walking *Pthb*). Got to drive down the main drag in Las Vegas, 'cause I'd never been there before. Went on to Needles, California, just so we could say we stayed the night in California. The trip back was just as fun.

We drove down a stretch of old Route 66 that was bypassed in 1952. Oatman, Arizona is a semi-ghost town and it's a fun place to visit. They've got wild donkeys that roam the town. For a few bucks, you can buy a bag of carrots and those donkeys will be your very best friends (at least, until the carrots are gone).

The weather was great, didn't rain on us at all. We all had a really good time. Even the kids behaved themselves. I think most of that was due to Eric riding shotgun and Charlie hiding in her "nest" of pillows and stuff in the back seat. They were too far away from each other to argue and carry on.

I can't wait for next year's trip now (Florida and South Carolina--the only two states on the East Coast that I've not been to yet).
