Vampires do NOT sparkle!Entry #622626
Finished the Twilight series earlier this week. The last book, in my opinion, was just too....perfect. And not in a good sense. Stephanie Meyer made it all work out for EVERYONE in such a way that it was completely unbelievable. And nobody even dies! Not that I would've cared much anyway. Her characters fell a little...flat. I didn't find myself really getting emotionally attached to ANY of them, not like I did with the Harry Potter series (and yes, I'm still sad about Snape passing away).

You know, it all kind of read like really bad fanfic. Like the author was trying to live vicariously through Bella. I remember writing stories like that when I was a teenager (back in the olden days before the internet was around). And if you look at the pic of her on the dust jacket, subtract a few pounds/years....you know what? She looks familiar somehow.......

What really bugged me was the repetition of how "beautiful" Edward was. Stephanie was beating us over the freakin' head with that rubbish. OK, OK! We get it! He's a hottie! He's completely lickable! Quit repeating yourself already!!!

I had to laugh at the um...climatic almost-fight scene in the last book. She gave some of those vampires special powers like a badly written issue of "The X-Men". And they never got to use them! Come on! A little fighting action might have made that last volume more interesting. Oh. Wait. No, that would've disrupted the fantasy fairytale-ness of it. Bleh!

Oh well.

But at least the Twilight series did inspire me. I've been writing fanfic about it. Well, actually it's more like a parody. I've decided that the whole thing could use some freakin' humour, for crying out loud! *Laugh* Stay tuned, I'll post it when I get done writing it.

*sighs*

I REALLY need to get an internet connection at home. It's been since April that I've posted any new art to my deviantArt account. And while I get to borrow my sister's PC to blog and browse occasionally, it's just not the same. Her PC is a dinosaur as it is (it's a Gateway!). Still, I'm thankful for it. Sure beats trying to blog while I'm at work (where the admins. can snoop, 'cause it's like, their job and stuff *mindless giggle*).

Yule is fast approaching. Ask me if I've gotten any of my shopping done. Go ahead, ask me.

NO!!!

I haven't even started on it! I'm loathe to face the crowds. It's not that I'm suffering from a phobia, I just hate having to deal with all the general idiocy that large masses of people crammed into malls and stores bring at this time of year. All those emotions of impatience and annoyance. They rub off on me and then I feel like crap.

*sighs*

Sometimes I'm just too sensitive to other people's feelings. It's tiresome. And draining. Maybe if I fight it with weirdness, they'll leave me the hell alone......
