Janurary Discipline - Ouch...Entry #627167
Well, I'm not sure if it's my "hardest" goal, but it is fundamental and I have "tried" to do it for a long time and have failed so far. Part of it is that like many, I have used night time for my writing time... well, I haven't been anything like an "early riser". After staying up til 1 am, sleeping til 10 or 11 just seems natural, especially since my 16 month old still invades our bed pretty much every night. I have fought schedules, even when I admit that I need them, even when I will create them for myself with the best of intentions. They have fizzled out. My kids wake at 7:30 and my sympathetic Husband lets me go on sleeping! Such a dear, really. However, with the kids having a head start ... well, I get the impression that they think they are running the show and that's not good. So this month is one to focus on "first things first". "Family Scheduling" and basically putting the fundamentals down.

*Note5* I need to plan and build the habit of waking up early (probably needs to be at least 7 am) enough to have personal prayer and study time so that I can hit the ground running when the kids do.
*Check3* I also need to ensure that my family has morning devotionals daily and Family Home Evenings weekly - particularly FHE needs some planning and serious attention to see it be quality and protected time.

By doing these things and a few other related goals - most importantly doing them consistently to build the habit - I believe that I will better set the mood of my home and start to bring things under control. It will strengthen my relationship with my Husband and with my children.

Meanwhile, I have a few little goals that I would like to also accomplish this month:
Personal:
*Balloon1* My "chapter" and my Husband's "chapter" in the family history book (which I'm creating in order to teach young children - namely mine - about their ancestors and family). This book will merge stories and photos and I want to do digitally and be able to print off either as a spiral bound book or put into a binder where the pages can be removable.
*Balloon2* Read at least 1 book to Lydia (and hopefully the other two, too) a day, to help her move toward reading
*Balloon3* 1 simple sewing project for my oldest (probably a bag for her which I think I have all the supplies for - we've already done two pillows)
*Balloon4* 1 simple project for my second oldest (not sure what yet, but this is a boy)

Writing:
*Check3* Draft New additions to Chp 2 of Hall of Secrets
*Balloon2* Finish Jeremiah's portrait
*Balloon3* Draft Query Letter for Hall of Secrets
*Check3* Finish "board" for Review Forum
