Actually, bagpipes aren't the only thing that make me cry, but with bagpipes and sad movies you don't have to explain to anyone why you are crying. Tears are expected when listening to bagpipes, especially if one or two of your ancestors came from Ireland.

The pipes wistful wail
bring tears to Irish eyes and
longing to our hearts.
