Olympic Relevancy
Aug 2nd
Do you think the Olympics are less relevant today when compared to the past? Discuss why or why not.

Countries are always competing, but most of the time that competition is called war. The Olympics is unique in that it brings countries together in the spirit of sport to compete without using weapons.

The Olympics are still relevant in today's world, perhaps even more relevant. It is a time for countries to gather and celebrate, whether or not they win. It is a time for bonds to be forged and strengthened. It is a time for unity, both within a single nation as well as between nations. It brings a country closer and it brings countries closer. It breeds appreciation for other countries traditions as well as sportsmanship and teamwork.

The games may not be relevant in the minds of big corporate executives, but they are relevant in strengthening the global community.

In other news:

Our practice for rowing this morning went really well, I thought. We worked on our sprints, and our coach was so proud that we got to finish practice thirty minutes early. No punishment either.

Tonight is the rowing banquet so we all have to dress up. There should be good food, so that should be nice.

Dream and Meditation Log

Dream Log:

Well, this is awkward. I can't read my own writing. And I can't remember what my first dream was about besides the garbled sentence I wrote down: "History first test too easy questions." Oh well. *Blush*

My second dream I remember better. It was on the lake I row on, but I wasn't in a boat. I was with a couple other girls and we were sitting on some sort of swing contraption suspended above the water. I was under the impression we couldn't row that day for some reason or another. Then the escort boat with my two coaches on it comes up to us and they say they need two volunteers: one to drive a boat, and one to shoot this guy. I don't know who the guy was, but I volunteered to drive the boat. The dream cut off then, but I suspect the dream would have continued in a sort of "drive by shooting" on a lake as opposed to land.

Meditation Log:

Listened to 6Hz Theta with isochronic pulses today.

Then, I felt super tired for some reason and listened to 45 of of this next hour long vid. I fell asleep, but was woken up by my grandpa coming into our room to turn on the AC. It was a binaural beats session which means that the frequencies changed. Here are those frequencies in the order they come in the session:

(15 Min) 4.9 Hz - Introspection; Induce relaxation, meditation, & deeper sleep
(15 Min) 2.5 Hz - pain relief, relaxation; production of endogenous opiates. Use for sedative effect [ESP];- reported use on bleeding, bruises, insomnia, and sinusitis.
(30 Min) 3.4 Hz - Sound Sleep

The whole session is associated with the heart (Effects=love, warmth) and with hara (located 3cm or 1.5 inch below navel, balance of pelvis).
