Laundry.Entry #284113
Toady, the laundry is getting done, I only have three loads because there are only three people living here, but the laundry seems like the dishes a never ending chore. Some things in life are like that, like parenting. You hope you are doing the right thing by giving the child time outs and talking to the child about what he is doing wrong.

I see a lot of myself in him, when I was his age I tried my hardest not to do what was expected of me. I tried to not get the good grades or be the best at anything because that would cause me to be noticed by my parents. I wanted to be a shadow in my own home.

I see my son doing that but different, he puts a lot of energy into not doing anything. I tell him to do his homework and he just sits at his desk dootling, or just reading a book that has nothing to do with homework. Hours later he gets done with it but I know it took him hours because he focused his energy on something other than what needed to be done. I tell him I need him to clean his room and he could spend hours quietly playing and not cleaning.

I am trying to point out to him that if he did what he was told or expected he would have more time to do what he wanted to do. I don't think he is listening. I guess he just wants to do the same thing and not be noticed by me, but I do notice what he is doing because in a way he is just like me. How to solve this question probably would make me millions of dollars because I think this is a universal problem of all parents.

He is making good grades but he could do so much more if he wanted too, with more encouragement from me. I hope.

I never get anywhere with out doing!

I never no where middles will be from how beginings started.
