AUTUMN

[Describes the autumn, winter, spring, cycle, on earth, as in life.]

Autumn slowly approaching,
Just a light chill in the wind,
Leaves falling, yellowish,
Carrying life’s messages:

That soon there will only be
Just a bare naked tree;
That with every passing day
We approach the bed of clay.

As autumn is harbinger
Of the approaching winter
When everything will be cold,
Life will be put on a hold,

So is the autumn of life,
When after many a strife
We wait for the final freeze
When even the breath will cease.

Why despair? Winter freeze
Will be followed by spring breeze.
Snow will be a thing of yore,
Life will be active once more.

Thus, too, in death, we depart,
Having played our little part,
Only to be born again
And continue this refrain.
