SHALL I HAVE MY YESTERDAY?Entry #355547
SHALL I HAVE MY YESTERDAY?

[Past is beautiful, from a distance. We must live in the present.]

Shall I have my yesterday,
When I was a little child,
Prancing in the summer rain,
By rainbow, captivated?

Shall I have my yesterday,
Frolicking in the playground
With my classmates in the school,
Lost in a world of my own?

Shall I have my yesterday,
Romancing with my heart throb,
Smiling, cajoling and crying,
As we whispered sweet nothings?

Shall I have my yesterday,
Without a moment for self,
With all the time divided
Between work and wife and kids?

No, though past was beautiful,
It had tribulations too.
I am happy as I am,
Weak, yet wizened and carefree.

Now that I have none to share,
All the time is my own now
To devote to Him and to
My ardent love, poetry.
