PICK UP THE DICE: a sonnet
Why keep gazing forever at the dice,
Waiting for the most opportune moment?
Prevarication is a mental vice;
It does only add to predicament.
How can one waiting at river bank learn
To swim even in the softest current?
Only those jumping fearlessly earn,
The skill and art of braving a torrent.
Wisdom lies in ever be watching that
We waste not what we can’t ever regain.
Let thriftiness be our guiding diktat;
Let saving each minute be our refrain.
Pick up the dice, roll it and simply throw.
Do not keep sitting in the waiting row.
