MY THREE WISHES



Wishes are just that, products
Of mere wishful thinking.
But, though imaginary, there’s
No harm in their listing.

I believe poverty should
Be eradicated.
Towards this end my wishes
Would be dedicated.

First of all I would like that
US may be restrained
From being the global cop, its
Ambitions may be chained.

My second wish, certainly,
Would be that Islam may
Be modernized and from its
Fundamentalism sway.

As my third wish I would like
Many a world resource
May be shared equitably,
Without any remorse.

If the above wishes are
Granted somehow I’m sure,
Poverty and strife in world,
There won’t be any more.
