A NOBLE ADDICTION
I had addictions galore.
You name it and I had,
From good ones, like writing, to
Those that were truly bad.
I wasted all of my time
In leisurely pursuits.
For living seriously,
I did not care three hoots.
But one day, when I was down,
I had from Him a call.
I suddenly realized
The folly of it all.
I gave up all addictions
And myself did I prod
To acquire a noble one,
My addiction to God.
Now I have no care in world.
I simply sing his praise.
Trying to do as He wills,
In my remaining days.
