HE DELAYS NOT HIS COMING
When each breath is too much laboured,
When each step is shaky, unsure,
When life seems as if worse than death,
When living is a torture pure;
When not a friendly soul is near,
When shrieks of loneliness are loud,
When one needs help but none is there,
And to seek alms, one is too proud;
When heart is pained more than the limbs,
When soul is bruised more than the heart,
When others have moved ahead but
One has not even made a start;
It’s then that one remembers Him,
When all around is helplessness,
Surrendering one to His will,
And seeking His grace and kindness.
When one prays to Him earnestly,
Prostrating oneself at His feet,
Then He delays not His coming
To quell all feeling of defeat.
