Why show me now,
and hide it later.

Why did you find me,
where I am sitting?

And say nothing to me,
and cover your eyes in shame.

But not self shame,
pity shame for who?

Me and my life?
Never even mattered.

But today you look away,
today you hide your face.

So be it!
I have to be here.

No one said it was wrong,
why have you come?

Never before have you helped,
never before have you looked.

I dare not think of it,
go away!

Here, another bite of pity,
another sting of hate.

Be bitter and shrivel,
leaving me be.

Dancing around in joy,
with shame shadowing your face.

And all I said was,
“Jesus forgives.”
