I’m writing you this letter, I hope you hear my words,
To feel this way after so many years makes me feel absurd,
Maybe it’s time to let you go, maybe it’s time to cry,
I only know that life without you makes me want to die.
If I make my words seem cold and hollow, filled with fear,
It’s only because I don’t want to show how much I care here.
I think the only way to prove to you that my love is real,
Is to sit here and write down exactly how you make me feel.
My day is brighter and my heart is lighter when you smile, I know,
And the blue skies remind me of your eyes everywhere I go.
Your voice causes chills and tingles to dance upon my spine,
I would honor and love you forever if you would only be mine.
Some days are cold and lonely because you are far,
Those nights I send a silent wish to the first twinkling star.
If I could just let go, if I could just move on and stop feeling this way,
Would my life truly be better or would I just be living ‘another day’?
I am not brave, I fear, so these words you will never read,
We can continue on without you knowing it’s you I need.
Most times it’s better that way, unknowing and unaware,
So if I ever get a chance to say I love you, I won’t dare.
We’re better off apart, of that I’m sure, so I must say,
